Joe Lenart is a registered patent attorney and founding shareholder of Kennedy Lenart Spraggins. Joe has experience representing a variety of clients including seed stage startups, late-stage startups, and publicly traded companies. Joe develops and implements strategies in domestic and international patent preparation and prosecution, infringement/invalidity opinions, trademark prosecution, licensing, acquisition, and IP portfolio strategy.
Joe has experience advising clients and obtaining IP assets in a variety of technical spaces. His practice specializes in patent prosecution and counseling in the computer/software/electronic arts including artificial intelligence, business intelligence applications, control systems, internet technology, cloud technology, data storage, security, and many others.
Before attending law school, Mr. Lenart worked as a software engineer in numerous industries, most recently in a senior level position with an international telecommunications company. As a software engineer, Mr. Lenart worked on projects involving search technologies, telecommunications systems, and many others.
Mr. Lenart received his B.A. in Computer Science from the University of Texas at Austin and his J.D. from Southern Methodist University, where he graduated cum laude.
